On Sunday 19th October the task will be to empty the charcoal kiln and preparing to clear a woodpile.
For June our volunteer Sunday of the on 15th June and a ranger from Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership will be running a Rowhill Nature Reserve task for volunteers.
Following an exercise to control the Rhododendron on the reserve, we have been left with lots of brushwood on the woodland floor. This brushwood inhibits growth of the native woodland flora that we are trying to encourage (bluebells, wood anemones, mosses and ferns). To clear this area, on the Sunday 15th June the Rowhill Volunteers are planning to have small, controlled bonfire to burn the brushwood (location in the map below). It is the third Sunday of the month on 17th May and a ranger from Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership will be running a Rowhill Nature Reserve task for volunteers. We are hoping to complete the wood store by installing the roof and finishing the doors.
