With such a varied mosaic of habitat types within the 55 acres, Rowhill Nature Reserve Society has tried to maximise the native species found within its boundary.

This has meant the control of unwanted invasive species such as Spanish bluebell and hybrids, Rhododendron ponticum, varigated yellow archangel, buddleia, montbretia, and hymalian balsam – which has now been successfully eradicated from Rowhill.
